On-Farm Water Use Efficiency: Impact of Sprinkler Cycle and Flow Rate to Cool Holstein Cows during Semi-Arid Summer

Sprinkler cooling is a common heat abatement method in dairy cows and uses huge quantities of groundwater. flow rate timing affect cow water use efficiency, but little known about how these strategies may influence performance under stress conditions Pakistan. The objective this study was to evaluate the efficiency different sprinkler cycles rates Holstein Friesian semi-arid summer Thirty (30) lactating were subjected 2 3 cycle crossover design. Flow 1.25 L/min, (water on|off) were: min on|3 off, on|6 on|9 off. Results showed that L/min had similar 2.0 group terms milk yield behavior, despite using 37.2% less water. respiration lowest 3|3 (SC) group, followed by 3|6 3|9 SC groups, respectively. Milk kg/d higher than group. In conclusion, findings suggest be more efficient option while maintaining conditions.
